How do I replace my Snap Lock on my hiback?

In order to change your Snap Lock, the binding has to be laid down on the LEFT side with the hiback closest to you.

Items required:
A hammer a center punch (or something the same size diameter of the retaining pin or slightly smaller)
A set of pliers (just in case).
A clean work bench area or solid table (lay a towel down first so as to not to scratch the table or binding).

Method:
1. Remove the binding from the board. Make sure to note your ladder positions on both sides. Pro-tip: using a paint pen or marker to draw a line on them helps eliminate the need to set them up from neutral settings and for any future travels or shop tune-ups later on. Also, note your binding angles and stance width.

2. Lay the binding down on its LEFT side with the hiback closest to you and the toe pointing out and away. The pin has two grooves in it and it is held in position in two points on the lock lever by two small O rings, which are slightly concave and have four teeth securing them to the pin. This puts the pin in a vertical position and it can now be tapped down and out using your hammer and punch. If the pin is over 3/4 of the way thru the lock lever you may be able to twist and pull it free using the pliers. Once free, the O rings - which are in the slots of the lock lever viewable in the open position - can now be tapped out and tossed into the recycling. Never re-use the O rings!

3. To remove the cable, pop one of the cable ends located on the bottom of the chassis out of the slot. Note which of the 2 slot positions which it's in. Use the tip of the pliers to pop the square metal cable stop out and twist it off the cable end. Carefully pull the cable end through the binding chassis and lock lever to change out the old/new lock lever. Repeat in reverse to reinstall the cable.

4.To re-install the new pin and O rings or new lock lever, keep the binding on its side and line the lock lever up in the open position in the hiback channel and slide the pin down thru the hiback and into the lock lever until you reach the first slot where the O rings are to be inserted. Place the first O ring (concave facing down) in the slot and tap the pin thru the O ring lightly until it is close to the second slot, repeat this step with the second O ring by placing it in the second slot (again, concave facing down) and tap the pin flush with the hiback.

5. Check your noted stance angles and width, remount your bindings and re-install the top strap.
